It focuses on creating an environment where young people can experience the radical love and power of the presence of God in their life.

It is made up of youth ministries coming together from across the South Island.

Storm Canterbury is open to all youth and intermediates regardless of their beliefs.

However, there are a couple things to be aware of:

• Youth cannot come to Storm without the connection of a youth group to care for them
• Youth are the primary responsibility of the individual youth groups that they came with
• Storm is not a drop-in centre: Storm sessions are not optional, and youth need to attend every session.
• During free time, youth are under the responsibility of their youth pastors and we advise youth to stay in groups with a youth leader assigned to them.

Storm consists of mainly worship and preaching sessions, training electives and sport/adventure based Tribal Wars.

Food isn’t included with registration and will be organised by individual youth groups. They also have the option of purchasing food from some local cafés & restaurants who will be offering discounts to Storm attendees.

• Sturdy footwear
• Nightwear
• Underwear
• Toilet gear/towel
• Warm clothing for cold & wet weather
• Old clothes that can get messed up in Tribal Wars!
• Sunscreen & any personal medication you may require
• Sleeping bag, blanket, pillow & stretcher/mattress (if your youth group is from out of town)
• Some money if you want to buy food, drinks and offerings for the guest speaker

Drugs, alcohol or weapons of any kind are not permitted at Storm Canterbury

Storm Canterbury is a camp/conference and youth groups from out of town will be sleeping in local churches marae style and will need to bring appropriate bedding and sleeping gear.

Youth from local youth groups will be going home each night.

If they don’t have a mobile phone then get in touch with their youth pastor who will be happy to help.
